FIA unveils new qualifying format, extends Q3 by one minute
The FIA has announced changes to the qualifying format for 2026. Six cars will now be eliminated in both Q1 and Q2 to accommodate the new 11th team Cadillac. Additionally, Q3 has been extended by one minute to give drivers more time in the decisive shootout session.
