Mercedes wins a year's grace on 18:1 engine compression ratio
The FIA World Motor Sport Council has confirmed that engine compression ratios will be measured under hot conditions from 1 June 2026, rather than immediately. No further changes will be implemented until 2027, giving Mercedes and its rivals time to adapt.
