World Council: Mandatory Monaco two-stop scrapped, Q3 sessions extended
The FIA World Motor Sport Council has approved several significant changes for the 2026 season beyond the compression ratio compromise. The mandatory two-stop strategy for Monaco has been dropped, qualifying sessions will be longer, and new rules on cooling suits have been introduced.
